FreeBSD 15.0 is benchmarked against Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS and Ubuntu 25.10 on an AMD EPYC 9965P 96-core server to compare operating system performance. The testing uses identical hardware including a Supermicro H13SSL-N motherboard, 768GB DDR5 memory, and Micron NVMe SSD. Ubuntu was tested with both default Schedutil and performance CPU frequency governors to match FreeBSD's behavior. Other BSD variants (DragonFlyBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD) failed to boot on this modern server platform, limiting the comparison to FreeBSD and Ubuntu.
