FreeBSD 14.4-RELEASE is now available as the fifth release of the stable/14 branch. Key highlights include OpenSSH upgraded to version 10.0p2 with post-quantum algorithm mlkem768x25519-sha256 enabled by default, OpenZFS upgraded to 2.2.9, improved cloud-init compatibility in nuageinit, Bhyve VMs gaining host filesystem sharing via p9fs(4), and improved manual page tooling. The release supports amd64, i386, aarch64, armv7, powerpc, powerpc64, and riscv64 architectures, and is available via ISO, USB images, VM disk images, OCI containers, and cloud platforms including AWS EC2, Google Compute Engine, and Azure. Support for 14.4-RELEASE runs until December 31, 2026. The release is dedicated to the memory of Ken Smith, former Release Engineering lead.
