Free open-source apps do everything I need from Microsoft 365, except cost money

After a year of underusing Microsoft 365, the author cancelled their subscription and switched to LibreOffice as a free, open-source replacement. LibreOffice Writer handles word processing needs adequately, while Proton Drive covers cloud document access. The main trade-off is inconsistent dark mode support in LibreOffice, but the author considers it acceptable. The experience revealed that most casual office suite needs can be met without a paid subscription.
