Framework has announced the Framework Laptop 13 Pro, a ground-up redesign addressing previous shortcomings. Key upgrades include a CNC-machined aluminum chassis, a 74Whr battery (20% larger) with claimed 20-hour life, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) chips with PCIe 5.0 and Wi-Fi 7, a custom 2880x1920 IPS display with 700 nits and 30-120Hz variable refresh, a haptic touchpad, and upgradeable LPCAMM2 RAM. Backward compatibility with older Framework 13 parts is largely maintained. Notably, this is the first Framework laptop sold with Linux pre-installed (Ubuntu), and the Ubuntu version has outsold the Windows version since launch. Pricing starts at $1,199 for the DIY edition, with pre-built Ubuntu configurations at $1,499. Shipping begins June 2026.
