Periodic Labs emerged from stealth with a $300M seed round to build AI scientists that automate scientific discovery through robotic laboratories. Founded by former OpenAI VP Liam Fedus and Google Brain/DeepMind materials researcher Ekin Dogus Cubuk, the company aims to create autonomous labs where robots conduct physical experiments to discover new materials like superconductors.
