Data links are Grafana’s way to add HTML links to a dashboard, but they don’t quite work the way you’d expect them to with tables.
Suppose you have a table like this (from my previous post):
Now, suppose you want to add a couple links here, one to a per-pod Grafana dashboard and one to a Kubernetes admin dashboard.In real life, you’d probably want to add a Grafana template here, like {{__data.fields["pod"]}} to substitute actual data into each URL, but that’s covered reasonably well in Grafana’s documentation.
Just click on the Data links block on the right side and add something like this:
Now your table looks like this:
Clicking on any of the blue links will give you a pop-up like this:
That’s ugly and not really what I want my table to look like. So let’s fix it.
