An open discussion on the pros and cons of using Flutter versus React Native for mobile app development, aimed at helping readers determine which framework might be better suited for different needs.

Flutter or React Native?

If you are familiar with JS, React etc then go with React Native. Both are initially same and there don’t have any big difference between them. Also React Native’s community is larger than Flutter. So you can get help easily compared to Flutter.
Flutter is a awesome, But if you are okay with learning a new language (Dart) than it may give you a bit more advantage in Ui design than React Native. You can build same app with both Framework and maybe similar work load.
Note: Dart is a bit easier than JS for beginners. If you are familiar with nothing like JS than going with Dart might be an easy solution

As a React Native dev, I surprisingly recommend Flutter now. Why? Our recent African gig economy project hit major roadblocks with React Native:

<li>2+ hour build times with Expo CLI during the day</li>
<li>Constant rebuilds for config plugins</li>
</ul>
We switched to Flutter, and despite my inexperience:
<ul>
<li>Development became less stressful</li>
<li>Rich widget ecosystem simplified complex UI</li>
<li>Straightforward styling saved time</li>
</ul>
If you know OOP, Flutter’s learning curve is gentle. For complex projects, it’s worth considering Flutter over React Native.

Sometimes, even if you know other programming languages, performance is crucial. . Flutter compiles directly to native. This means you can achieve higher performance levels compared to React Native.

Both get the job done. But there are some things to consider when choosing. If you favor performance, Flutter wins hands down. Flutter is also easier to learn and slightly simpler to write. With Flutter it is also possible to write once and run on Linux and Windows, which RN does offer. The only plus point for RN is the big community and lots of already-made packages ready to use. That being said, Flutter’s community is catching up quickly. RN is also more secure because of the many years it has been around and many packages and support there is available for it.
So if you are looking for a LTS solution with lots of community support, while compromising performance, RN is the way. But for everything else, Flutter wins all-round.

Honestly, I wonder about the same, I am already somewhat familiar with ReactJS. So should I learn flutter or just learn React Native (which I hope will be easier to learn because of my experience with ReactJS).
