Vanilla OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution with a ton of major difference. It takes a bold new approach to desktop OS thanks to an immutable file system. It uses its own package manager and subsystem called apx. This is described as a wrapper around multiple package managers to install packages and run commands inside a managed container.

I’ve tested this distro for a day. Basically it works as expected. I appriciate installation process, apx cli tool, the look and feel. Performance is good too.
The greatest point is native Gnome. Nowadays we can only get pure Gnome with Fedora, Endeavour, Debian (old version). Other teams at Manjaro, Pop!OS, Ubuntu, etc tend to destructive Gnome by modifying it by their own design philosophy.

I tried this version, but are so new, they have some bugs to resolve, so I ended to go with Ubuntu 22.10 for now. But I really think to use them starting the 23.04 release (they will follow Ubuntu’s release cicle, but will not have LTS editions).
