Loops is a new short-form video platform in the Fediverse, currently in public beta. It offers a familiar experience to TikTok and Instagram Reels users but retains a Fediverse-first approach. While polished, Loops lacks some key features like built-in recording tools and a public API. The focus areas for improvement include enhancing discovery and search, enabling federation, and simplifying video creation. Despite these limitations, the app shows promise and continues to add new features rapidly.
