Mozilla's management decisions have consistently undermined Firefox's potential despite the browser's technical improvements. The company has abandoned promising projects like Rust and Servo, made questionable acquisitions of ad companies, and pursued AI integration while laying off engineers. Firefox remains faster and more privacy-focused than Chrome, but Mozilla's leadership lacks direction due to never needing to generate profit from Google's funding. The solution may be restructuring Mozilla as a focused nonprofit dedicated solely to browser development and web standards advocacy.

Firefox is fine. The people running it are not

It’s true. Firefox has been improving as a browser, but observing the Mozilla management in recent months (a little more than a year), I can say, they’re… I don’t know where… Not where they should be.
Mozilla should be concentrating on being a foundation that supports the development of the last independent browser engine (currently, as Servo and Ladybird aren’t going going GA anytime soon). They should concentrate on getting it on modern tracks and keeping it standards-compliant.
They should NOT try to pull an OpenAI on people (basically trying to go “for profit”, being a non-profit), as they’re currently trying.

The solution is to replace Mozilla leadership with people that are more concerned about raising funds to pay devs and other required FF tasks and focusing on the technical aspects of making FF the best software it can be.
No sign of it happening though.

I was aware of the changes to the privacy policy through this website, but I was unaware that they had abandoned the development of Servo and Rust. I still have no hatred toward Firefox itself, but it is complicated to think that some misguided individuals are leading such great software in a negative direction.

Mozilla has had terrible management for at least 10 years. The former CEO (Mitchell Baker) was pathetically greedy. I still use Firefox to this day, alternating with Vivaldi. If management showed they could move in the right direction, I’d gladly donate.

That’s all the more reason to stop using it and just fork a better one. otherwise, the corporation behind it will keep leveraging our complacency and keep going the same bad path that they were on.
