The attack resulted in theft of customer personal and financial data, including Social Security numbers, affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals. Marquis plans to seek compensation from SonicWall for breach-related expenses, while SonicWall disputes the connection and requests evidence. SonicWall initially claimed fewer than 5% of customers were affected but later admitted all customers using its cloud backup service had their firewall configurations accessed.
