ISC has developed a new DHCP server named Kea to replace the outdated isc-dhcp-server, which reached end-of-life in 2022. Kea features a new, more maintainable codebase, multithreading capability, high availability support, extendable functionality with optional hooks and APIs, and an optional graphical interface for reporting and admin tasks. The end-user experience remains unchanged, but the new system is expected to be easier to maintain and extend.
