<p>Fedora Asahi Remix 43 is out, bringing Fedora Linux 43 to Apple Silicon Macs with a handful of meaningful hardware and software improvements.</p>
<h2>What’s new</h2>
<p>The flagship desktop is KDE Plasma 6.6, which adds OCR support in Spectacle, a new on-screen keyboard, and a first-run setup wizard. A GNOME 49 variant is also available, along with a Fedora Server variant and a Minimal image for those who want something leaner.</p>
<p>On the package management side, this release ships RPM 6.0 with post-quantum cryptography support and switches PackageKit to the DNF5 backend. That’s actually ahead of mainline Fedora, which is expected to make the same move in Fedora 44.</p>
<p>The kernel is Linux 6.17.</p>

<h2>Installing or upgrading</h2>
<p>Fresh installs on Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13.5 or later require a single <code>curl</code> command from the Asahi installer. Users already on Fedora Asahi Remix 41 or 42 can upgrade through Plasma Discover or <code>dnf system-upgrade</code>.</p>
