Rust 1.90.0 will use the LLD linker by default on x86_64 Linux systems, significantly reducing linking times. Testing shows 7x faster incremental rebuilds and 40% reduction in end-to-end compilation times for some projects. The change is already available in beta for testing, with an opt-out flag available if issues arise.
