Claude Opus 4.6 Fast mode is now available in research preview for GitHub Copilot Pro+ and Enterprise users, offering output token speeds up to 2.5x faster while maintaining the same intelligence level. The feature can be accessed through Visual Studio Code (in chat, ask, edit, and agent modes) and Copilot CLI via the model picker. Enterprise administrators need to enable the Fast mode policy in Copilot settings, and the rollout is gradual.
