I’ve been solo-developing a crossplay(Web and/or Unreal) free-to-play multiplayer sandbox progression game <a href="http://www.extractgame.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">www.extractgame.com</a>, about gathering items that blends progression systems from various games that you might find interesting.
I’ve just released an update that expands the game mechanics, reworks the visuals, and makes the web client much more playable.
The game includes:

<li>Skill system with exponentially increasing experience requirement (level 1-99)</li>
<li>12 Skills (Mining, Woodcutting, Smithing, Crafting, Herblore, Salvaging, Prayer, Fishing, Hunting, Cooking, Farming, Treasure Hunting)</li>
<li>Progressive experience scaling systems</li>
<li>Reward scaling systems (item gain, item types, point gain, rewards generated, etc…)</li>
<li>12 skill trees with level requirements for allocating progressively more nodes</li>
<li>Equipment and gear progression</li>
<li>Leaderboard system (12 skill leaderboards, 7 achievement leaderboards)</li>
<li>Idle capabilities</li>
<li>Progressive level requirements for gathering certain objects</li>
<li>Procedurally generated worlds with increasing levels of difficulty</li>
<li>Assigned task system with multiple ways of reward scaling (Prophecy Stone in-game)</li>
<li>Item affix system (Tier 8 -&gt; Tier 1 variations for most affixes)</li>
<li>Progressive healing capabilities (smaller food, large food, potions, etc…)</li>
<li>Multiple drop tables with loot scaling and loot targeting capabilities</li>
<li>Long term achievement rewards (Deed Stash in-game)</li>
<li>Inventory grid based items</li>
<li>Direct item trading</li>
<li>Async item trading, list buy and sell offers for items to auto-trade in the Exchange</li>
<li>Bank system</li>
<li>Chat system (local, global, private messages, friends, blocking)</li>

I’ve laid the base foundation for the game systems, and now I’m starting to add mini-games that expand the experience and enable you to obtain items in a wide range of styles from entirely casual/idle to high intensity/high skill activities.
I’ve just added a new minigame in this patch:
<ul>
<li>The Wave Machine - Dodge ground effects which apply dangerous debuffs to your character.</li>
</ul>
The current 3 minigames are:
<ul>
<li>The Fallout Zone - Randomly generated world modified by talisman items. The world only ticks when you step onto a new tile or do an action in the world, and there are dangerous monsters within which can attack you. Better items generate with higher difficulty and more distance from spawn.</li>
<li>The Fallout Tunnel - Same mechanic as the fallout zone, but modified solely by a difficulty slider. The objective is to get the to end of a narrow dangerous world.</li>
<li>Artifact Worlds - Generated world containing a randomly generated square shape of mining, woodcutting, fishing nodes modified by artifact items. Affixes on gear and artifacts can control how long you can idle on these objects inside the world. These worlds can also be public/joinable with a special affix, otherwise it is private/unjoinable like other minigames.</li>
</ul>
With another minigame soon to follow:
<ul>
<li>Mercenaries - Equip and pay mercenaries to do a dangerous expedition for you on their own every 30 minutes, unlock more mercenary slots with total level. Pick from various types of mercenary, control the activity they will do, and target the rewards gained.</li>
</ul>
The game has two clients (Web and/or Unreal) that share the same world. Note the art and visuals for both clients are very early in development, I’ve spent the most time developing the game systems. I’m starting to develop more compelling art/visuals as the game develops.
There are two separate economies to choose from:
<ul>
<li>Standard</li>
<li>Accelerated, which gives 3× item rewards, causing items to snowball exponentially with each interaction</li>
</ul>
The accelerated mode definitely has some unintended broken strategies that break the economy, but that’s part of the fun. If you like optimizing builds, grinding skills, and breaking economies, this is your playground.

A solo developer released Patch #42 for Extract Game, a free-to-play crossplay multiplayer sandbox with 12 skills, skill trees, and progression systems. The update introduces a new engine, reworked visuals, a wave-dodging minigame called The Wave Machine, and improved web client playability. The game features 650+ items, 48 quests, procedurally generated worlds, player-driven economy, and multiple minigames including Fallout Zone, Fallout Tunnel, and Artifact Worlds. Players can choose between Standard and Accelerated (3× rewards) economies, with both Web and Unreal Engine clients sharing the same world.
