Diversity quantified by experience is paramount.
Diversity quantified by DNA is a Nazi wet-dream.
What type of diversity is #2 addressing? Why should we value unique experience more or less depending on how one’s DNA is structured?
It seems as though people like this author are trying to account for diverse experience by making assumptions about unique individuals based exclusively on genetic identifiers.
Those genetic identifiers are then being leveraged against the unique individuals as comparisons are made to other human beings with the same, superficial (meaningless) characteristics.
You are reducing a unique individual down to the lowest common denominator you can find by comparing them against strangers who are superficially similar, without regard for things like hardships, socio-economic status, passions, etc and saying ‘Here’s another person who has lived a boring, privileged life just like all those other people who look like him’ instead of being like ‘Hey, here’s a unique person who wants to work for us - let’s learn about her’.
Ironically, all of that semantic bigotry is done in the name of equality, progress and diversity. Lol.
Honestly blows my mind that people who signed up to leverage logic in hopes of making life better for everyone are so ignorant and bigoted in their ideologies.
