Rails Icons version 1.8 introduces three major features: experimental Ruby LSP support for icon name autocompletion in IDEs, a built-in icon preview browser mountable via a single route, and extraction of core sync/SVG logic into a standalone Icons gem usable in any Ruby framework. The preview browser supports search by name and keyword, copying icon names or helpers, and shareable URLs. The gem has grown to nearly 250k downloads since its 1.0 launch in late 2024.
