A ham radio operator built a standalone clock called Ham Clock CYD using the Cheap Yellow Display (an ESP32-based color touchscreen LCD), a BME280 sensor, and a DS3231 RTC module. The device works without internet but can pull in amateur radio-specific data like N0NBH solar forecasts and VHF/HF band conditions when WiFi is available. The project is open source on GitHub and uses affordable, off-the-shelf hardware.
