Dutch fitness chain Basic-Fit disclosed a data breach affecting approximately 1 million members across the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, and Germany. Hackers gained unauthorized access to a system recording member visits and exfiltrated personal data including full names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and bank account details. The breach was detected and stopped within minutes, and no passwords or ID documents were compromised. Franchise member data was stored separately and was not affected. Basic-Fit has notified relevant data protection authorities and is working with external security experts to monitor for any online leaks.
