GitHub Copilot is introducing new rate limits for Pro+ users to address high concurrency and intense usage patterns straining shared infrastructure. Two types of limits will roll out over the next few weeks: service reliability limits (requiring session resets when hit) and model-specific capacity limits (allowing users to switch models or use Auto mode). Additionally, Opus 4.6 Fast is being retired for Copilot Pro+ users starting today, with Opus 4.6 recommended as an alternative.
