Ubuntu 26.04 LTS removes the Software & Updates utility from default installs and moves Ubuntu Pro configuration into the Security Center app. The new enrollment flow is cleaner, with a prominent 'enable Ubuntu Pro' button that authenticates via Ubuntu One in a browser. Once enrolled, users can toggle Extended Security Maintenance (ESM) for thousands of packages, kernel live-patching, and Livepatch status in the top bar. The Security Center snap also works on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
