GitHub has released a new capability allowing enterprise admins to selectively enable the GitHub Copilot Cloud Agent (CCA) on a per-organization basis. Previously, the only options were to enable or disable CCA globally or delegate the decision to each organization. Now, admins can target specific organizations individually or by using organization custom properties. Three new REST API endpoints support this: a PUT to set policy state, a POST to add organizations to the enabled list, and a DELETE to disable CCA for specific organizations. The setting can also be managed via the AI Controls page. Note that custom property evaluation happens only at configuration time — later changes to properties do not automatically update CCA access.
