Grafana Cloud's Adaptive Logs now includes a drop rules feature in public preview, allowing platform and observability teams to define custom rules that drop low-value log lines before ingestion. Rules can target logs by level, label, or content, and support partial sampling via configurable drop percentages. Drop rules integrate with existing Adaptive Logs mechanisms: exemptions protect critical logs, pattern-based recommendations surface unnoticed waste, and drop rules handle known noise. The feature is admin-only, available in all Grafana Cloud tiers at no extra cost, and can also be managed via the new gcx CLI.
