Aurora OS.js is an open source project that simulates a complete operating system inside a web browser with integrated hacking game mechanics. It features a virtual file system with persistent storage, a Linux-like terminal, window manager, and syntax-highlighted notepad. Built with React 19, Electron 39, TypeScript 5, and Tailwind CSS v4, the project follows a three-phase roadmap: current v0.7.7 focuses on foundations, v1.x will add solo hacking gameplay, and v2.x will introduce persistent multiplayer where players can hack each other. A live demo is available on GitHub Pages with guest credentials.
