Elastic and Cursor have announced a partnership that brings Elasticsearch's retrieval, observability, and security capabilities directly into the Cursor AI coding platform. A new Elastic plugin on the Cursor Marketplace packages open-source Agent Skills (covering Elasticsearch APIs, Kibana, Elastic Observability, and Elastic Security) and an Elastic Docs MCP server. This lets Cursor's coding agents query live production logs, execute ES|QL queries, surface Kibana dashboards, and triage security alerts without leaving the editor. The skills are built on the agentskills.io specification, released under Apache 2.0, and governed by Elasticsearch's role-based access controls.
