Elastic 9.4 is now generally available, bringing major updates across the Elasticsearch Platform, Observability, and Security products. Key highlights include: Elastic Workflows reaching GA for automation and agentic orchestration; Agent Builder gaining Skills, Attachments, Connectors, and Plugins; native Prometheus and PromQL support with Elasticsearch TSDB claimed to be 2.6x more storage-efficient and 25x faster than Prometheus; GPU-accelerated vector indexing via NVIDIA cuVS now GA with up to 12x indexing throughput improvement; ES|QL gaining subqueries, approximate queries, logical views, and access to unmapped fields; AI-powered dashboard creation in Kibana; FIPS 140-3 compliance for both Elasticsearch and Kibana; and four new Entity Analytics capabilities for security teams including Precision Entity Identification and Entity Resolution.
