EFF has new boss, Nicole Ozer, to fight privacy-suckers

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has appointed Nicole Ozer as its new executive director, succeeding Cindy Cohn who departs this summer. Ozer joins from the ACLU of Northern California, where she led the Technology and Civil Liberties Program. She was instrumental in passing the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the California Reader Privacy Act. Ozer takes the helm at a critical time, with government agencies openly purchasing commercial data broker data to track citizens and AI reshaping society. She emphasizes ensuring technology works for people broadly rather than benefiting only a few, though she has not yet committed to a specific policy agenda.
