Easy Agent Skills with Spring AI and the new Skillsjars project!

A live stream demo introducing SkillsJars, a new project that packages AI agent skills (the Anthropic-originated standard for injecting knowledge into AI agents) as Maven/Gradle dependencies distributed via Maven Central. The project lets Java developers version, distribute, and consume agent skills as standard jar dependencies. The demo shows extracting skills for use with AI code assistants like Cursor CLI, and integrating skills into custom Spring AI agents via the Spring AI community agent-utils project. Security concerns around prompt injection in skills are discussed, with scanning planned as a near-term feature. The session also briefly demos a Spring AI-powered MCP server with one-time token authentication for a book's content.
