DuckDuckGo has expanded its built-in Scam Blocker to protect against more online threats including fake e-commerce sites, cryptocurrency scams, and scareware. Unlike other browsers that use Google's Safe Browsing service and share data with Google, DuckDuckGo's solution works anonymously using threat data from Netcraft. The feature blocks phishing sites, malware, malicious ads, and various scam sites without tracking user browsing data. It's free and enabled by default in the DuckDuckGo browser, with Privacy Pro subscribers getting full-device protection through VPN.
