Dopamine Driven Development

One small place where I realized this recently was with using Apache airflow for cronjobs is so much more satisfying than manually checking a black screen routinely. (My current project has around 60+ scheduled jobs for different suppliers and internal processes)

True, I suppose that’s also why its so much more effective to build something in small chunks to give yourself small wins.
When I was still learning a much more experienced dude who was helping me debug something I was doing (and could tell I was super frustrated) said “Its about small wins” so split your problem into small achievable bites to give yrslf that reward.

I have ADHD, and this has been incredibly helpful!
I think I need to take a step back and focus on rediscovering the joy of coding, to get that dopamine boost I need, instead of pushing myself to work endless hours and ending up burned out and drained with nothing on my hands.

The right amount of eye candy does make coding much more enjoyable! I am shocked every time I switch back from a riced zsh to a plain ash.

This is why I prefer full stack. Some UI feedbacks good for the brain
