Don't make Google sell Chrome

What will likely happen is that Google will just get a tiny fine as a slap on the wrist like every monopoly these days. <s>Boy were are going to be rich!</s>

They won fair and square? No.
When a company pays absurd sums to phone manufacturers to set Google as default just for it to run slower than in Chrome. That’s not fair.
Sure their power came from innovation, but that doesn’t change the fact that they lock down Chrome more to their benefit. Manifest V3 comes to mind, which bombs consumer freedom to do what they want.
And why? Because they can do it, because there aren’t good alterntives that work good with Google, because they have the monopoly.
People use Chrome and Google because the market lacks alternatives.
Maybe that’s not so bad, but with great power comes great responsibility and I doubt Google exercises that responsibility. That is why they are deemed a monopoly. Because they display the behavior a typical monopolist would display.
Saying that Google shouldn’t be forced to sell of Chrome because they won. It tells me that you don’t understand why monopolys are hated in a market economy.

the solution here is to make chromium a non-profit similar to mozilla &amp; make it so you pick your default search engine on installation. similar to what seznam forced on google in the czech republic.

Yeah, right. There’s M$ which will almost 100% finance it, and Google most likely will not stop it. But yeah, do your far reach for sake of protection of Google
