Completely agreed. It’s crazy how people don’t have any backup option. They get a job and think they will be there forever, which is so crazy. You should always have a backup option even if you’ve been in the company for 1 second or 30 years straight.

Wisdom. If you’re getting bent over, kept getting delays in promised promotions. Spend your valuable energy in gtfo. Same for getting underpaid.

I agree with you in the sense you should rather work for yourself as a developer that’s the power you get use your company for your maximum benefit, and I also don’t think this is a well rounded advice for everyone, what about majority of Indian who dont have degree , but what’s to pursue tech, what about all those people who believe who are in tech but at the end of the day realize they signed up for scam gig that scams americans. I really think you dont understand and this advice is always for the people who are able to know how valuable their own skill,
so the only good soft skill a programmer has to learn is how to negotiate. Which myself included don’t ever have this skill due to the imposter syndrome
