Peter Williams, former general manager of L3Harris-owned Trenchant, faces nine years in prison for stealing and selling eight zero-day exploits to a Russian broker between 2022 and 2025. Prosecutors revealed the stolen hacking tools could enable access to millions of computers worldwide, including in the U.S. Williams made over $1.3 million in cryptocurrency from the sales to a broker serving the Russian government, while simultaneously overseeing the internal investigation and allowing another employee to be wrongly blamed. He pleaded guilty in October and awaits sentencing on February 24.
