do you understand what just happened over at Anthropic with Claude? → a CMS misconfiguration exposed nearly 3,000 unpublished assets including a draft blog post announcing a new model called Claude Mythos → Anthropic has already confirmed the model is real… their spokesperson said the model’s “a step change” and the most capable they’ve built to date… it’s already being tested with early access customers → the leaked draft also used the term “Capybara” as a new tier above Opus…most likely an internal codename… Mythos and Capybara are the same beast (their most capable model yet) → Mythos scores dramatically higher than Claude Opus 4.6 on coding, reasoning, and cybersecurity benchmarks → here’s where it gets even more serious though… the draft explicitly warns the model poses “unprecedented cybersecurity risks” and is “far ahead of any other AI model in cyber capabilities” → Anthropic’s own words: it “presages an upcoming wave of models that can exploit vulnerabilities in ways that far outpace the efforts of defenders” 😳 → they’re being deliberately cautious with the rollout… sharing results with cyber defenders first so organizations can prepare → the leak also exposed details of an invite-only CEO retreat in the English countryside where Dario Amodei will demo unreleased Claude features to European business leaders the irony here is hard to miss. the company building one of the most advanced AIs on earth that also says it wants to protect humanity from AI just got exposed by a CMS config that set files to “public by default” thanks to human error the model that finds vulnerabilities faster than any other… was only revealed because someone forgot to flip on a privacy switch… LOL no one is immune to human error. not even Anthropic this is simultaneously the most exciting and most sobering AI news of the year so far also interesting timing here given Claude’s new rollout of 5 hour session limit windows and ChatGPT’s clapback by resetting Codex usage limits and even more interesting when you consider the fact the Pentagon said Claude was a supply chain risk… was there any truth to that? or is the judge already blocking the Pentagon’s decision there a good move? idk man could this be an S tier marketing ploy by Amodei or is this a fatal human error? only time will tell worth watching closely though
