I’ve spent years learning CSS, and while libraries like Tailwind or Bootstrap can be useful, I find them restricting. They require time to learn all the utility classes, and when working on complex projects, I often spend even more time bending the library to fit my needs. For me, it’s faster and more flexible to stick with plain CSS or SCSS.
Tailwind’s utility-first approach works well for quick setups or when you want to focus on business logic, and I get why some developers love it. But investing time in learning a library like Tailwind doesn’t feel worth it for me. Today it’s Tailwind, tomorrow it’ll be another trend. Instead, I focus on mastering reusable and well-structured CSS, which works for any project without being tied to a specific tool.
While libraries have their place, they can’t replace the versatility and precision of CSS itself. Tools are great, but understanding the core language is even better in the long run.

I don’t like either. I loathe Tailwind and think it’s depressing how it has taken the industry by storm. To me it’s an antipattern catering to people who don’t like writing CSS.
CSS modules I’m not a fan of either.
In general I don’t think class naming clashes is such a big problem in CSS, at least not the way I approach my styling work. :)

I prefer Tailwind CSS. It makes working with CSS so much easier. But sometimes for customisation, I also use a little bit of CSS modules.

I don’t mind either approaches. But it’s always nice to know some CSS basics first.
