Launching a Steam game demo right before Steam Next Fest is a common mistake. The competition for visibility slots is intense in the weeks leading up to the event, demos are often rushed and undertested, and developers miss out on organic trending exposure. The recommended strategy is to launch the demo months or even years before Next Fest, keep it live to accumulate wishlists, and arrive at the festival with a polished, well-tested demo.
