I’ve been using DBeaver for the past four years, and it’s truly an excellent tool packed with a wide range of features. However, one of the challenges is that many users aren’t fully aware of all these hidden features. It would be really helpful if DBeaver introduced a way to highlight or remind users about them, so they can get the most out of the tool.
Another area that could be improved is the changelog. Currently, it’s mostly just unstyled text, which feels a bit plain and boring. Adding visuals — like a short GIF or video after each listed feature or change — would make the updates far more engaging and easier to understand. This would not only highlight new improvements but also encourage users to actually try them out.

When you go to purchase a paid version, it requires an ongoing subscription. This is new in 2025. Previously, you could buy a perpetual license. (A discussion on this trend of requiring a subscription, beloved by Microsoft and Adobe among others, is a topic for another thread.)
For new users, I’d recommend trying it. And trying <a href="https://www.dbvis.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">DbVisualizer</a> and pick what works best for you. DbVisualizer has a good free version, and a broad list of databases. And if you upgrade to the <a href="https://www.dbvis.com/pricing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">paid version</a>, the software has a perpetual license (buy once, use forever). and the subscription is for support and upgrades. You will have access to all software updates during the subscription term. Afterwards, keep using the software forever, until you want an upgrade.
