Discord is implementing mandatory age verification globally starting March 2026, requiring users to submit face scans or government IDs to access full platform features. All users will default to teen-appropriate settings with restricted access until they verify their age. The rollout follows lawsuits alleging facilitation of minor exploitation and comes as Discord prepares for an IPO, despite a recent data breach exposing 70,000 users' ID photos.
