Number() searches the entire string for numbers, returning NaN if any non-numeric characters are found. parseInt() and parseFloat() return the first number found in the string, ignoring the rest. If there are no numbers at the beginning, they return NaN.

Not going to lie, unless you have highly specific use case (like <a href="https://app.daily.dev/cahyatt" data-mention-id="tCICiGdmmahtNlzoidbbJ" data-mention-username="cahyatt">@cahyatt</a> ) if you have non number characters in a string that should be a number, you have a problem.

Actually just learned this yesterday at work. It makes a huge difference when you’re creating a parser for refund amounts…

Just don’t do <code>array.map(parseInt)</code> or you’ll regret it :D

but somehow I think that if you have to use Number() instead of parseInt() that maybe the logic before that is not the best :)
