While initiatives like Interop 2022 address browser implementation compatibility, no equivalent effort exists for DevTools tooling parity. The author proposes that DevTools teams collaborate — similar to Interop 2022 — to agree on baseline UI and tooling for key web features like CSS Grid, Flexbox, scroll snapping, and color functions. CSS Grid's cross-browser inspector support is cited as a model: consistent, discoverable tooling accelerated adoption. The proposal stops short of full standardization, preserving room for browser-specific innovation, but advocates for a shared baseline that reduces developer frustration when switching browsers.
