pretty good article with some thought provoking points. however, i don’t agree with everything here. definitely worth a read but be skeptical.

Great article but I really think this is more of a company specific issue rather than a broad issue with DevOps. It’s like saying a specific coding language is bad because your perception of those who code in that language is bad. Just my thoughts!

This is a great read for anyone (myself included) who still has unconditional acceptance or second-hand trust in DevOps. DevOps has become such an amalgamation of (tools, principles, frameworks,…) that it is immensely difficult to separate the snake oil from the real deal.
It is clear Cory has the experience to see what worked, works and what doesn’t. The PaaS he describes, albeit with gratuitous coarseness, rings with undeniable nuggets of truth.
As someone who recently started down the “DevOps” path (having seen enough of the latent potential) I appreciate the lucidity it brings.

Well, there are some good points in the article but also some mishmash. I 100% agree that DevOps need to know how to program It’s much more satisfying than copy-pasting terraform and way better than the whole SRE part which in my view is the worst part of DevOps.

Great article! but i respectfully disagree about the author’s contention that DevOps is bullshit. i do have experience with these practices, and while i understand their frustrations and the challenges with implementing DevOps practices in some organizations, i think it depends on the company or organization and its specific needs.
