Deno Deploy has reached general availability with major new features including build support for Node.js frameworks (Next.js, SvelteKit), integrated serverless PostgreSQL databases with automatic migrations, OpenTelemetry-based observability (logs, traces, metrics), and development tunneling that syncs environment variables and databases to local machines. The platform also introduces Deno Sandbox (beta): sub-second Linux microVMs for running untrusted code with network allowlisting, secret management that prevents exfiltration, and programmatic deployment capabilities. Sandboxes support snapshots, volumes, and can run arbitrary languages while maintaining security through multiple layers including Deno runtime permissions, VM-level network controls, and placeholder-based secret injection.
