Open source should be the standard, not the alternative.

As a Dane who has worked a government job, the initiative sounds good in theory. However, these types of projects usually take a very long time to gain traction and be rolled out - if they ever are at all.
I’m not very confident in their ability to make this work, and my guesstimate is that 80 - 90% of the public AND private sector is heavily tied to the MS-suite. Retraining people into learning new software could potentially be the biggest blocker in this.

I wonder how soon they will revert this decision due to the same problems that always occurs with these transitions. Have they learned from mistake of others?
