The problem is mostly for active developers who have many projects in their computer, but everyone can get benefit from it. The solution is called npkill and you can find it on npm.js. This tool will navigate for your disk looking for node_modules folders and will list all of them.

Delete unused node_modules in a second and enjoy some free space!

Awesome tool. I used to delete it manually but in Windows it takes too much time to delete heavy folders

i dont use npm but this is still cool

That’s a great tool - my node_modules taking ~25GB (just checked using <code>npkill</code>), so definitely something I want to optimize in my storage.

Just recently I learned from <a href="https://app.daily.dev/idoshamun" data-mention-id="28849d86070e4c099c877ab6837c61f0" data-mention-username="idoshamun">@idoshamun</a> <a href="https://github.com/agkozak/zsh-z" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">zsh-z</a> plugin for you bash or zsh that allows you to quickly navigate between folders based on you frequency of visits (check README for better explanation) and it’s really cool. Then even more I found <a href="https://ohmyz.sh/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">oh-my-zsh</a> - it’s like a framework for you shell with a number of different plugins included and it’s super customizable

node_modules is the heaviest objects in the universe. npkill is a great space cleaner!
