Ian Laffey and his team built a drone using camera and Google Maps tech at a hackathon, which garnered attention after a viral tweet. Their startup, Theseus, focuses on hardware and software for unmanned military drones without GPS. Theseus raised $4.3 million in seed funding and is working with U.S. Special Forces for testing.
