A lock picker known as Lock Noob attempts to defeat a custom 'unpickable' traveling key lock designed by Works by Design. Using an impressioning attack — repeatedly turning the lock and filing away material from brass blanks based on pin impressions — the lock is eventually opened after over an hour of work. A plastic anti-impressioning pin proves fragile and is partially torn off in the process. A foil-based impressioning attempt with a skeleton key is also tried but fails due to the sideways pin orientation. The exercise highlights that 'unpickable' is relative: requiring 1+ hours of skilled filing may qualify as unpickable for most, but determined enthusiasts with knowledge of bitting depths can still succeed.
