Deezer reports that 44% of all new music uploaded to its platform is now AI-generated, amounting to roughly 75,000 tracks per day. Despite the surge in uploads, actual consumption remains low at 1-3% of total streams, with 85% of those streams flagged as fraudulent and demonetized. Deezer has been tagging AI tracks since June 2025, removing them from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists, and now plans to stop storing hi-res versions of AI tracks. The announcement coincides with an AI-generated track topping iTunes charts in multiple countries and a Deezer survey showing 97% of listeners can't distinguish AI music from human-made music.
