Debugging Snowpark UDFs in Snowflake's secure execution environment is notoriously opaque. This post introduces a workflow combining Snowflake Event Tables (which capture logs, metrics, and traces from UDFs) with a custom Cortex Code CLI skill to automate the entire debugging process. The skill auto-detects Event Table configuration, intelligently queries telemetry, recognizes common failure patterns (memory, timeout, import, permission errors), and can automatically fix and redeploy the UDF. Setup involves installing the Cortex Code CLI, cloning a provided GitHub repo, and adding the custom skill with a single command.
