PhoenixStreamdown is a streaming markdown renderer for Phoenix LiveView, designed specifically for LLM token output. It uses server-side rendering with zero client-side JavaScript by leveraging LiveView's DOM diffing. The library splits markdown into independent blocks, auto-closes incomplete syntax during streaming, and uses MDEx (Rust-backed) for HTML rendering. Completed blocks are frozen with `phx-update="ignore"` so only the active block re-renders per token — achieving ~7x less server work and ~460x smaller diffs on a 56-block document compared to full re-renders. Available as a 1.0.0-beta Hex package.
